Ghanaian musician King Paluta has addressed the growing backlash surrounding the recent London concert controversy, asserting that the criticism forms part of a calculated attempt to damage his reputation.
Speaking in an interview with Zionfelix, as monitored by *MyNewsGh*, the rapper questioned the intent behind the allegations being levelled against him, noting that those familiar with his character find the situation deeply troubling.
“People who truly know me are asking why these accusations are even being made, and that alone should tell you that something is wrong,” he said.
King Paluta suggested that the attacks did not originate from the London incident alone, but rather stemmed from political misunderstandings during the previous election period. He explained that claims alleging he received money from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during campaign activities triggered a wave of sustained criticism.
“They say I took money from Bawumia during the campaign, and that accusation opened the door for attempts to tarnish my image,” he stated.
The musician further described what he believes to be a coordinated effort on social media to portray him negatively. He pointed to certain trends on platforms such as TikTok as evidence of this narrative.
“I’ve seen my picture being used on TikTok with sad music, accompanied by messages about staying humble when God elevates you. It feels deliberate and well-orchestrated,” he remarked.
Despite the ongoing scrutiny, King Paluta said he has received encouragement from colleagues within the music industry, which has helped him cope with the situation.
“Fellow artistes have reached out to ask what is really happening because they know my character and understand that I have not wronged anyone. It’s painful and confusing to go through this,” he added.
The artiste’s comments reflect the emotional strain he says the controversy has placed on him, as he continues to defend his integrity amid mounting public attention.
