Singer Amaarae withdrew from the *Taste of Culture* event after what her team described as excessive and unacceptable delays in the programme, a decision taken to uphold the artiste’s professional standards.
Amaarae’s mother and manager, Ama Bawuah, explained that the event organisers failed to adhere to agreed timelines, despite the singer being fully prepared to perform.
“She does not subscribe to mediocrity. She invests time and resources into preparation, yet the organisers kept changing plans and introducing multiple issues,” Bawuah stated in a post shared on X on December 27, 2025.
According to her, Amaarae and her team exercised patience for a considerable period in anticipation that the situation would improve. However, it eventually became clear that the delays would not be resolved.
“We were extremely patient with the organisers, but it reached a point where the situation became untenable,” she said.
Bawuah emphasized that the decision for Amaarae to leave the venue was not taken lightly but was reached after careful consideration.
“As her mother and manager, I ultimately advised her to leave,” she concluded.
The incident has since sparked discussions about event management standards and the importance of respecting artists’ time and professionalism.
