The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police has arrested three individuals in the Dabala and Sogakope areas of the Volta Region for allegedly impersonating senior public officials on social media to defraud unsuspecting victims.

The suspects reportedly posed as the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and other prominent figures to carry out their online scams.

Those taken into custody are Gideon Awudi, 25, Edem Soku, 33, and Judith Soku, 31. Police allege that the trio were also involved in mobile money fraud, credit card scams, airtime fraud, and fake online sales across various platforms.
