OliveTheBoy Explains New Hairstyle: "I've Dropped the Crown"

Afrobeats artist OliveTheBoy has revealed that his new hairstyle is a deliberate change tied to a recurring pattern in his career.

In an interview on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, the singer explained, “I’ve dropped the crown. I’ve dropped it. The color is now more visible.”

OliveTheBoy noted that reactions from fans have been mixed, with some appreciating the new look while others are less fond of it. “Some people like it, some people don’t, but it has a reason behind it,” he explained.

He shared that, every year around this time, he introduces something new in connection with an upcoming project. “If you look at the years I’ve been in the industry, almost every time it gets to the end of the year, something new comes. It’s project-based,” he said.

When asked if his new look was catching the attention of women, OliveTheBoy smiled and replied, “Papa, people dey. They listen, they watch. But it’s because of something.”

The artist also addressed concerns about not wearing warm clothing in the studio, especially with the air conditioner on. “I’m good. I’m not feeling cold,” he stated, dismissing the need to turn off the AC.
