Kwesi Pratt Warns Ghana is in "Very, Very Deep Trouble" and Urges National Unity

Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt has issued a stark warning about Ghana's future, saying the country is in "very, very deep trouble" and needs urgent action that transcends political divisions.

Speaking on *Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana* and monitored by MyNewsGh, Pratt emphasized the alarming state of institutional decay across the country. He called for a collective, non-partisan effort to avert a worsening crisis.

“Everybody knows that Ghana is in trouble, and we need to rally all the forces we can find to carry out a rescue mission,” Pratt stated. He warned that the situation could rapidly spiral out of control if left unaddressed.

Pratt cautioned that failing to unite around the nation's broader interests could lead to severe consequences. “If we don’t rally around the flag and the interests of working people, this country can very quickly become a banana republic,” he said, expressing deep concern not just for the present, but for the long-term future of Ghana.

He stressed the need for leadership that places the nation above political loyalty, saying, “You need people from NDC, NPP, CPP, or PNC who can look beyond the narrow objective of capturing power and focus on the national interest.”

Pratt’s message was clear: unity, honesty, and strong leadership are essential to overcoming Ghana’s mounting challenges. “I’m so very deeply worried about the present and future of this country,” he concluded.
