Tinubu Administration Poised to Reveal Identities of Terrorism Sponsors — Presidency

The Federal Government of Nigeria is preparing to disclose the names of individuals and networks financing terrorism across the country—an action the Presidency describes as a significant step in strengthening national security.

Major Security Actions Underway

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, revealed the development during an interview on TVC on Sunday.
He stated that the administration is rolling out far-reaching security measures and assured that Nigerians will soon begin to see concrete results.

Terrorism Now a Global Threat

Bwala emphasized that terrorism has evolved into an international crisis that transcends borders, requiring strong global cooperation to combat.
According to him, world powers now view countries like Nigeria—where extremist groups aim to expand their operations—as critical zones in the global counterterrorism effort.

Influence of Post-9/11 Security Strategy

He noted that the 9/11 attacks reshaped global attitudes toward terrorism, prompting countries to treat it as a shared threat. This shift, he said, explains the continued support Nigeria receives from its international partners in tackling extremist networks.

Shift of Terrorist Activity to the Sahel

Bwala also pointed out that terrorist operations, once centered in the Middle East, have increasingly moved into the Sahel region, heightening insecurity in West Africa. The situation, he said, calls for strengthened regional alliances and enhanced intelligence sharing.

Domestic Crackdown Intensifies

On the home front, the Tinubu administration is intensifying operations aimed at dismantling networks that enable and finance terrorism.
Bwala assured the public that the government intends to be transparent:

“In the coming days, we’ll name the terrorists and their backers.”

A Potential Turning Point for Nigeria

The planned revelations are expected to help disrupt funding sources and discourage collaboration with extremist groups. The government hopes this decisive step will mark significant progress toward a safer, more stable Nigeria.
