Mona Gucci Challenges Efia Odo’s Celebrity Status in Heated Commentary

Ghanaian media personality Mona Gucci has publicly criticized socialite and actress Efia Odo, questioning her credibility and influence within the country’s entertainment industry.

During a recent episode of her show, Mona responded to Efia Odo’s claim that TikTok influencers should be recognized as celebrities. According to Mona, Efia's perspective stems from her own position as a social media figure rather than someone with traditional celebrity credentials.

“She supports influencers because she’s one of them,” Mona said candidly.

Mona revealed that she had previously chosen not to engage with Efia Odo, likening her behavior to that of an unruly puppy. However, she now feels the need to speak out, citing what she sees as Efia’s disregard for boundaries and public decorum.

“For some reason, you think you're a celebrity, Efia Odo. But you’re not,” Mona declared. “You’re a good social media influencer—I'll give you that—but you’re not a celebrity.”

She went on to criticize the tendency among Ghanaians to avoid confronting public figures with hard truths. “Maybe Ghanaians are deceiving you because we know how to sugarcoat things. But I won’t. You are not a celebrity,” she stated.

Mona concluded by claiming that Efia Odo’s fame is largely tied to her associations with musicians, rather than any independent achievements in entertainment or the arts.

Her comments have sparked widespread discussion online, reigniting the debate about what constitutes celebrity status in the digital age.

In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
