Ghana's music scene is in mourning following the death of acclaimed Highlife musician Dada Kwaku Duah, widely known as Dada K.D.
The veteran artist, who earned widespread recognition for his contributions to Highlife music, has sadly passed away. While details surrounding his death are yet to be officially confirmed, the news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community.
Back in 2020, after the deaths of fellow Ghanaian entertainers Kofi B and Bishop Bernard Nyarko, Dada K.D. shared a deeply emotional message on Facebook that now feels haunting in retrospect. He expressed profound sorrow and disappointment with the industry, suggesting he, too, might soon follow his late colleagues.
“May your gentle soul find you a perfect place to keep you, Bishop Bernard Nyarko. My regards to Kofi B, and tell him it won’t be long—I’ll join you all too soon. Our industry sucks,” he wrote at the time.
Bishop Bernard Nyarko, a popular Kumawood actor, died on May 2, 2020, after battling colon cancer. His death, alongside that of Kofi B, had deeply affected Dada K.D., as reflected in his message.
His passing now adds to the growing list of influential figures lost in Ghana's entertainment sector. Fans and fellow artists are remembering Dada K.D. not only for his timeless music but also for the emotional depth and honesty he brought to his work.
