A growing dispute between a Susu leader and one of her members has sparked public attention following allegations of unprofessional conduct and delayed payments.
The incident reportedly occurred after the member, a woman, persistently requested the return of her GHC 4,000 savings. The Susu leader, a young woman described by some as attractive, allegedly responded with harsh and dismissive language, advising the member to stop disturbing her over what she referred to as “coins.”
The leader downplayed the significance of the amount, claiming she manages far larger sums for other clients who do not exert similar pressure. She reassured the member that she had no intention of absconding with the funds, urging her to exercise patience.
This situation has raised concerns over trust and transparency in informal savings groups, which many rely on for short-term financial security.
