Man Faces Public Outrage for Assaulting Woman Over Alleged Theft of GHS 7

A viral video circulating on social media has sparked widespread condemnation after it captured a man assaulting a young woman he allegedly hired for a hookup. The man accused her of stealing GHS 7 (approximately 1,000 Nigerian Naira) from his wallet.

In the disturbing footage, the man is seen flogging the woman while she pleads for him to stop recording her, as she was unclothed during the incident. He claimed the money went missing while he was in the bathroom following their encounter. The woman, however, denied the accusation and threatened to destroy his phone for filming her in such a vulnerable state and falsely accusing her.

Due to its explicit content, the video has not been shared on mainstream platforms but continues to circulate via third-party channels.

The incident has triggered a strong backlash online, with many describing the man’s actions as abusive, dehumanizing, and a clear violation of her rights. Social media users are calling for his immediate arrest and legal consequences.

Public Reactions:

  • @AfamDeluxo: “Nigeria has a deep-rooted misogyny problem. How does allegedly stealing 1,000 Naira justify stripping and flogging a woman while recording it? This is pure cruelty.”
  • @Allezamani: “He should be arrested. Help me locate the lady so she can get justice.”
  • @Ogumsi: “This is wickedness in its rawest form.”
  • @LifeInSolace: “Why not report her to the police instead of humiliating her? She has a strong legal case.”
  • @Ghvstprogrammer: “He should’ve at least let her get dressed. And this was all over just 1,000 Naira?”

Human rights advocates and legal experts are urging authorities to take immediate action, framing this as a case of gender-based violence and digital abuse. The incident underscores broader societal issues surrounding privacy, misogyny, and the abuse of power in situations involving vulnerable individuals.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
