ASEM ABA: Woman Suffers Mental Breakdown Just Hours After Childbirth

A tragic incident has drawn widespread attention after a Nigerian woman reportedly suffered a mental and medical crisis just hours after delivering her baby. The heart-wrenching account was shared by the woman’s sister in an emotional TikTok video.

According to the sister, their mother informed her at around 9 a.m. that the woman had gone into labor. By 2 p.m., she had given birth and returned home safely, looking well and even receiving visitors.

But the joyful mood didn’t last long.

Around 5 p.m., the new mother went to take a bath and was later found unresponsive on the bathroom floor, naked and convulsing. Her sister described the terrifying scene: the woman was biting her tongue, her body shaking violently—clear signs of a seizure.

“She regained consciousness for a moment and asked what had happened,” the sister recalled. “Then she started convulsing again.”

The video has since gone viral, sparking a wave of emotional reactions and shared stories from women who’ve experienced similar postpartum challenges.

What People Are Saying:

  • @myown: “Sounds like postpartum eclampsia. It’s very dangerous.”
  • @phoenix_star: “Was her blood pressure checked during pregnancy? Eclampsia can be fatal.”
  • @mena: “I did nothing for three months after childbirth. Women need time to heal.”
  • @nazanwa40: “Told my husband I wasn’t ready for another baby. He said it wasn’t my decision. Shocking.”

  • @Titang Afuhanmbom: “No matter how strong you feel post-birth, just rest. Guests can wait.”
  • @GinikaEbere: “Dealing with hormonal imbalance since childbirth. My body looks fine, but I feel awful.”
  • @Blessing & Theodore/Autism joy: “Since my last baby, my health hasn’t been the same. And raising an autistic child adds even more stress.”
  • This story highlights the critical need for proper postpartum care and awareness. Conditions like postpartum eclampsia—a potentially life-threatening issue marked by high blood pressure and seizures—can emerge suddenly, even after a seemingly healthy delivery.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
