Four suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command after allegedly abducting a woman using a wooden toy gun and collecting a ₦4 million ransom.
The arrests were made during a routine stop-and-search by officers of the Dragon Patrol team. Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed that ₦3 million was recovered from the suspects, which was believed to be part of the ransom paid for the woman’s release.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to using a fake wooden gun to threaten and abduct the victim. She was held for four days before being released after her family paid the ransom.
Authorities reported that the woman later appeared in a video confirming the abduction. Investigations are still ongoing as police work to recover the outstanding ₦1 million and ensure that all individuals connected to the crime are brought to justice.
