The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association in the Greater Accra Region has directed its members to reduce the prices of spare parts in response to the recent strengthening of the Ghanaian cedi against the US dollar.
This initiative follows the improved performance of the local currency under the new administration led by President John Dramani Mahama. The Association emphasized that the decision aims to provide economic relief to consumers and contribute to national efforts to stabilize the prices of goods and services.
Commending the government’s measures to bolster the cedi and strengthen the economy, the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Henry Okyere Jnr., pledged the group's continued support for sustaining the currency's positive trajectory.
“We fully endorse the government’s efforts and are committed to collaborating to ensure the sustained appreciation of the cedi, which will bring much-needed economic relief to Ghanaians,” Mr. Okyere stated.
He also urged all members to strictly adhere to the new pricing directives, underscoring their collective responsibility to maintain fair pricing and market stability.
The Association affirmed that the price reductions reflect its commitment to national economic recovery and ensuring affordability for consumers across the country.
