Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has cautioned that the continuous rejection of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executive (MMDCE) nominees could hinder progress in the affected districts.
Her warning comes after the Ada East District Chief Executive nominee failed to secure the necessary two-thirds majority vote for confirmation.
Addressing the media on May 8, 2025, Ocloo urged nominees to proactively engage assembly members prior to the confirmation process to build consensus and support.
“If you delay the confirmation, you delay development. Several initiatives are already underway. A confirmed DCE can lobby for jobs and bring in resources, but without one in place, the process is slowed down through coordinators or other channels,” she explained.
