Elizabeth Mueni, a customer care officer at Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company Limited (NAWASSCO), has been divorced following an incident where she was caught in a hotel room with her boss, Managing Director James Ng’ang’a. The discovery was made on the night of April 17, 2025, when her estranged husband, Duncan Mwangi, arrived at the hotel after receiving a tip-off. Mueni has since stated that she no longer lives with Mwangi and had been residing separately in her own rented accommodation .
Prior to the hotel incident, Mueni had accused Mwangi of persistent abuse, alleging that she had reported him to several police stations without any action being taken. She claimed that in March of the same year, Mwangi assaulted her by pulling her hair so violently that one side of her head was left bald. Additionally, she alleged that her father was also assaulted by Mwangi in 2019 .
Following the hotel incident, Mueni has been divorced by her husband. Meanwhile, she has accused her husband of persistent abuse, alleging that she had reported him to several police stations, but no action had been taken. In March this year, Mueni said Mwangi assaulted her, pulling her hair so violently that one side of her head was left bald. She filed a report at Mwariki Police Station. According to Mueni, her father was also assaulted by Mwangi in 2019. “What kind of man beats his father-in-law?” she asked. She also accused Mwangi of infidelity and claimed she had photographs to prove that he was engaging in extra-marital affairs .
The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the complexities of relationships and the importance of addressing issues such as abuse and infidelity in a timely and effective manner.
