Nigerian comedian Deeone has reacted to the release of controversial activist Verydarkman, cautioning his fanbase, known as the "Ratels," to avoid provoking him into further legal trouble.

Verydarkman was recently released by the EFCC after spending five days in detention over allegations related to financial crimes. Following his release, Deeone took to social media to share a message of warning and advice.

In his words:

“Thank God for the man that intervened. I no wan mention his name, but anything law, human rights—na him. This is a message to Ratels: abeg, no push am again o. For the financial crime matter, he still go court go prove himself.”

Although Deeone didn’t name the individual who secured Verydarkman’s release, many speculated it was a prominent human rights lawyer.
