Mahama Announces National Cathedral Audit Report Due This Month

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his government's commitment to tackling corruption, revealing that an independent audit of the National Cathedral project, initiated by the previous Akufo-Addo administration, will be completed this month.

During a national address on May 7, marking his first 120 days in office, Mahama disclosed that the global audit firm Deloitte has been tasked with reviewing the controversial project.

"The fight against corruption continues. Deloitte and Touche is conducting an independent audit of the National Cathedral project, and I expect their report to be ready by the end of May," Mahama stated.

He also mentioned that investigations are ongoing into other government projects, including the organization of the 13th African Games, with several officials already questioned.

These efforts are part of Mahama’s broader campaign promise to address corruption and promote transparency during his presidency.
