Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester Over Alleged 2023 Nightclub Assault


 

American R&B artist Chris Brown was reportedly arrested in Manchester, UK, in connection with a violent incident that allegedly took place at a London nightclub in 2023.

According to multiple reports, the 36-year-old singer was taken into custody in the early hours of Thursday, May 15, 2025, at The Lowry Hotel. Authorities suspect Brown of inflicting grievous bodily harm during an altercation at Tape nightclub in London’s affluent Mayfair area on February 19, 2023.

The alleged victim, music producer Abe Diaw, claims that Brown struck him on the head with a bottle and continued to assault him with punches and kicks. Diaw was hospitalized due to his injuries and subsequently filed a $16 million lawsuit against Brown, citing physical and emotional harm, along with defamation.

As of now, Brown's management has not released any official statement regarding the arrest or the accusations.

This incident emerges just weeks ahead of the launch of Brown’s highly anticipated Breezy Bowl XX Stadium World Tour, which is scheduled to begin on June 8, 2025, in Amsterdam.
