The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with local logistics company Sky Brokers in a bold effort to accelerate the completion of educational infrastructure projects nationwide.

Under the partnership, Sky Brokers and its Chinese affiliate, Jiangsu Yisong Construction Engineering Co. Ltd, will offer pre-financing solutions to contractors and suppliers engaged in GETFund-backed projects. This initiative is designed to address a major bottleneck in project execution—limited access to upfront capital—which has historically caused delays in the delivery of school buildings and other educational facilities.

At the signing ceremony, GETFund Administrator Paul Adjei emphasized the significance of the agreement.

“One of the key challenges to timely project completion has been the lack of working capital. This partnership helps bridge that financing gap and supports our core mission of improving educational infrastructure delivery,” he stated.

Sky Brokers Managing Director Mesuna Deliman Osman echoed the importance of the collaboration, describing it as a game-changer for local contractors.

“We are proud to contribute to this national effort. Our financing model is designed specifically for local businesses, and we’re committed to enabling quicker, more efficient project execution to support Ghana’s educational development,” he said.

The partnership is also expected to increase local business participation in government projects, enhance transparency and accountability, and align with President John Dramani Mahama’s development agenda to improve educational access and quality.

Both GETFund and Sky Brokers have committed to making this initiative a model of effective public-private partnership in Ghana’s education sector, with the goal of ensuring that infrastructure projects are delivered on time and at the highest standard.
