A significant milestone has been reached in efforts to resolve the ongoing Bawku conflict, as Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is set to present the results of his mediation efforts to President John Mahama in the coming days.
The development follows a crucial dialogue session between the Kusaasi and Mamprusi factions held at the Manhyia Palace on Monday.
Participants from both sides left the meeting with visible signs of relief, and brief celebrations were reported within the palace grounds. Observers have hailed the session as a major step forward in the national drive for lasting peace in Bawku.
However, a minor incident occurred outside the palace when a jubilant Mamprusi supporter allegedly struck a vehicle belonging to the opposing faction, leading to a swift intervention by security personnel.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who was appointed by President Mahama to lead the mediation process, is now expected to submit his report for government review and subsequent action.
