Popular Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known professionally as Blaqbonez, has stirred widespread conversation with his unconventional views on marriage and fidelity.
Speaking during an appearance on the In My Opinion podcast, the Chocolate City artist revealed he is open to the idea of an open marriage, stating that emotional loyalty holds more weight for him than physical exclusivity.
“I don’t mind having an open marriage,” Blaqbonez said, explaining that sexual passion in long-term relationships naturally diminishes over time, while emotional bonds tend to deepen.

“Most married couples don’t keep having the same amount of sex they had at the beginning; it naturally reduces. So, if someone else is satisfying her sexually while I’m out hustling or touring, that’s fine. There’s more to marriage than sex,” he explained.
Blaqbonez emphasized that what matters most to him is emotional connection and loyalty, even if physical intimacy happens outside the marriage.
“I don’t mind her sleeping with someone else, as long as she’s still committed to me emotionally,” he added.

The rapper went on to describe his vision of a future marriage, noting that he would prefer to maintain separate rooms from his wife, only coming together when they both desire intimacy.
“It would be hard for another man to match the emotional connection I’ve built. They might not even make her laugh like I do,” he said confidently.
