Ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming presidential primaries, 63 out of the party’s 87 Members of Parliament (MPs) have publicly reaffirmed their support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
At a press conference held earlier today, the MPs expressed their confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, describing him as the right candidate to lead the NPP to victory in the next general elections.
According to the group, their endorsement is based on Dr. Bawumia’s vision, integrity, and commitment to national transformation. They pledged to actively support his campaign and work toward uniting the party behind his candidacy.
The NPP will hold its presidential primaries on January 31, 2026, where five leading members of the party are expected to contest for the flagbearer position.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a former Vice President, is widely regarded as one of the frontrunners in the race. His campaign has emphasized continuity, innovation, and economic transformation as key pillars of his political agenda.
