Businessman and New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Kennedy Agyapong has expressed disappointment over what he described as the lack of appreciation from members of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign team, despite his support during the election period.
Speaking in an interview on Dreamz FM in Bolgatanga, the former NPP flagbearer hopeful said he invested substantial resources in support of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign but was met with insults instead of gratitude.
“Who said I didn’t support Bawumia after I lost the election? Do you know how much I spent? Even a simple thank you—nobody in his team called to say that. All I received were insults,” he stated.
Agyapong revealed that he personally contributed ₵100,000, sewing machines, hair dryers, streetlights, and assorted goods at several campaign events, noting that his contributions were well-documented and witnessed by his son.
“Wherever I went, I donated ₵100,000 and various items to support the campaign. They came for them themselves. At least they should have said thank you. But I’m not bothered—the deception and lack of gratitude won’t help the party,” he added.
According to Agyapong, such behavior discourages losing candidates from supporting the eventual winners, warning that this culture of ingratitude could hurt party unity and future cooperation.
