Chinese businessman Ross Boss has publicly responded after controversial influencer Verydarkman (VDM) accused him of fraudulent practices and warned the public against doing business with him.

VDM, known for his outspoken social media commentary, had previously cautioned his followers to avoid engaging with Ross, alleging that some of Ross’s actions during their time together in China raised red flags.

VDM Raises Suspicions, Ross Responds

In a video shared on his platforms, VDM said he no longer trusted Ross and believed the businessman may not be as genuine as he initially seemed. The video sparked widespread reactions from fans and critics alike.

However, Ross Boss—who deals in second-hand clothing (Okrika)—has firmly denied the allegations, accusing VDM of defamation and spreading falsehoods without proof.

“You’re too childish, too immature. Ross thought you were a mature person,” Ross said in a direct message to VDM.

He emphasized that:

  • He’s been doing business in Nigeria and Africa for eight years, long before meeting VDM.
  • No previous clients have accused him of fraud.
  • The number of customers gained through VDM was minimal, with very few making high-value purchases.

“No client is paying extra or buying lower-quality goods because of your endorsement. Your influence isn’t moving the market the way you think,” Ross added.

Clarifying the Canton Fair Drama

Addressing VDM’s claim that he helped him gain entry into the Canton Fair (a major trade expo in Guangzhou, China), Ross clarified the situation.

“I paid four African friends $100 each to help me enter the fair. I always pay for help, regardless of who is involved. Your influence had nothing to do with it,” Ross said.

He also shared a video on Instagram presenting his side of the story, which has since sparked further conversation online.

Mixed Reactions Trail the Feud

As the fallout continues, public opinion remains divided. Some have taken Ross’s side, while others believe VDM’s warnings are justified. Influencers like Dr. Ezike have also weighed in, criticizing VDM for frequently clashing with those around him.

“Everybody is bad—who is good in your calendar?” Dr. Ezike asked pointedly.
