Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, remains confident in his team’s chances of winning the 2024–2025 Ghana Premier League title.
Speaking ahead of their highly anticipated clash with arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 4, at the Accra Sports Stadium (15:00 GMT), Zito emphasized that the title race is far from over.
“Until the league ends, I will never lose hope. We are going to fight for the title. We’re pushing the players—this is the time to win games and keep moving closer to the top,” Zito stated during a pre-match interview.
Kotoko currently sits fourth on the league table with 50 points, just three points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars. Their upcoming match against sixth-placed Hearts of Oak is expected to be crucial in shaping the final standings.
Zito took charge of the team recently, replacing Dr. Prosper Ogum. In his debut match as head coach, Kotoko secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars, breaking a four-game losing streak.
