Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Dr. Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, has extended heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaian workers for their vital contributions to national development.
In his address marking Workers’ Day on Thursday, May 1, 2025, Dr. Pelpuo praised the dedication, resilience, and hard work of the country's labour force, which he described as the engine driving Ghana's progress.
“I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all Ghanaian workers whose dedication, resilience, and hard work continue to drive our nation forward,” he stated.
Dr. Pelpuo reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to promoting decent work, fair wages, and safe working conditions. He called on employers and all relevant stakeholders to recommit to these principles across all sectors of the economy.
“Let’s renew our collective commitment to decent work, fair wages, and safe working conditions for all. The government remains steadfast in advancing policies that promote job creation, protect workers’ rights, and ensure dignity in labour,” he said.
The Minister also highlighted the central role of workers in the government’s ongoing national reset agenda. He emphasized that their continued involvement is crucial in building a resilient and inclusive economy, especially in a rapidly evolving global labour landscape.
“Happy Labour Day to every worker across Ghana. Your contribution is the backbone of our development. Afeyhia pa, and God bless you all, as we move our nation forward and achieve the progress we require in this era of renewal,” Dr. Pelpuo concluded.
