The New Force Movement, led by Nana Kwame Bediako—widely known as “Cheddar”—has strongly condemned the actions of one of its security personnel following an incident at the funeral of the late Mamponghene in the Ashanti Region.
A video circulating on social media shows a bodyguard allegedly assaulting a mourner who attempted to approach the 2024 presidential hopeful. The footage captures the guard forcefully striking the individual in the chest, sparking widespread public outrage.
The incident has drawn significant criticism online, with many Ghanaians calling on the Ghana Police Service to take swift action and ensure justice is served.
In response to the backlash, the New Force issued an official statement disavowing the bodyguard’s conduct. The movement emphasized that such behavior is contrary to its principles and values. It also announced that an internal investigation is underway to identify and discipline the individual involved.
“The New Force does not condone any form of violence or violation of human rights,” the statement read.
