A Burkinabe national has been arrested in Assin Fosu in the Central Region of Ghana for alleged involvement in human trafficking activities.
According to local authorities, the suspect was apprehended following a coordinated operation by the Ghana Police Service and relevant stakeholders. Preliminary investigations revealed that the individual was involved in transporting and harboring victims—mostly young people—with the intent of exploiting them for forced labor and other illicit purposes.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. Officials say efforts are being made to identify and rescue potential victims while expanding the probe to uncover any possible network behind the operation.
Law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to combating human trafficking in all its forms and urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to the crimes.
