The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has issued a mixed weather forecast for Monday, June 9, 2025. The day is expected to begin with calm and mild conditions across much of the country, particularly in coastal, forested, and mountainous areas where early morning mist and fog are likely.
As the morning progresses, most regions will experience partly cloudy skies, giving way to sunny weather by mid-morning. However, weather conditions may shift later in the day, with a high likelihood of thunderstorms and rain showers in the afternoon and evening.
These unstable weather patterns are forecasted mainly for the coastal zones, middle belt, transition areas, and northern regions.
Regional Forecast Summary:
- Accra: Expect partly cloudy skies in the morning with a 30–40% chance of thunderstorms developing by late afternoon or evening. High temperatures will reach approximately 31°C.
- Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim: Misty conditions will dominate the early hours before giving way to intervals of sunshine. Scattered showers or thunderstorms may occur later in the day.
- Inland Cities (Koforidua, Kumasi, Akim Oda, Techiman): Morning mist will gradually clear, allowing for mostly sunny skies. Evening thunderstorms are likely, with daytime highs ranging between 32°C and 33°C.
- Northern Sector (Bolgatanga, Wa, Nalerigu): Expect hot and sunny conditions throughout much of the day, with temperatures reaching up to 36°C. There remains a chance of thunderstorms by evening.
GMet urges residents, especially those in areas prone to thunderstorms, to remain alert and monitor weather updates regularly throughout the day.
