Lady Ends Engagement Months After Viral Proposal, Shares Announcement Online

A Nigerian woman known on X (formerly Twitter) as @nor_mad_ has announced the end of her engagement to her fiancé, photographer Eddie Ekwere, just months after their widely celebrated proposal took the internet by storm.

Back in March, the couple gained viral attention after sharing stunning proposal photos that won the hearts of many on social media. Eddie’s charm and their seemingly perfect love story sparked admiration and praise across platforms.

However, in a surprising update, the same user returned to X to post one of the original proposal photos—this time with a cryptic caption:

"Well, e don cast."

“I’m No Longer Engaged” – She Confirms in Video

Following the vague post, curious followers flooded her page with questions, prompting her to release a short video offering some clarity—without going into details.

“So I brought out my phone and mic to make a public service announcement.
I am no longer engaged. I am no longer in a relationship.
I’m not going to explain why.
I just want to be done with all the questions and comments.
I’m now single. That’s literally the announcement I came to make,” she said.

Mixed Reactions from Social Media Users

The announcement sparked mixed reactions online—ranging from support to sarcasm and criticism:

  • @OpewilliamsK: “Shouldn’t have made the video if you weren’t going to explain. The online uncles and aunties deserve to know.”
  • @NuJhayhne: “I thought this was leading up to ‘I’m no longer single because I’m now married.’ 🥲”
  • @Alexandaaahh: “My mind is telling me the guy left you because of your forehead.”
  • @AimThaMachine_: “This could’ve just ended with your ‘e don cast’ post. Anyway, if things ended peacefully, I wish you well. If not… gist go soon sup.”
  • @imMarvinAgunkwo: “They engaged you, you posted it. They broke up with you, you posted it. Some people don’t like their relationships on display—just saying.”

The couple’s love story, once celebrated online, now joins the long list of social media romances that didn’t survive the spotlight.

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
