From Nwaboy to CEO: A 17-Year Journey to Entrepreneurial Success

The CEO of Kris Electronics Store has shared an inspiring story of perseverance and growth, recounting his incredible 17-year journey from working as an "Nwaboy" (a young helper) to leading one of Lagos' fastest-growing electronics businesses.

In a recent Instagram post, the entrepreneur revealed how his journey began in 2009 when he left home to assist his uncle in Lagos, who was involved in the electronics trade. He worked under his uncle’s mentorship until 2013 before exploring other career paths. These included stints in construction in Abuja and an attempt to learn the motor spare parts business in Gudu market. However, his passion for electronics kept calling him back.

The Return to Electronics

In 2015, he returned to Lagos to work for another boss in the electronics sector. This decision became pivotal in shaping his future career. By 2022, after years of honing his skills and building his experience, he made a bold move—he opened his own store in Ajah, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey with Kris Electronics Store.

Overcoming Early Struggles

The early days were far from easy. With limited stock and slow sales, there were moments when the entrepreneur felt discouraged. As he recalled, “I would come to the shop for a whole day and wouldn’t make a single sale. I was frustrated and almost felt like giving up, but I kept trusting the process.” His persistence, however, paid off.

Breakthrough and Expansion

Slowly but surely, his fortunes began to change. As sales picked up, Kris Electronics began attracting a growing customer base, including high-profile clients. By 2024, the company opened its second branch on Addo Road, Ajah. They also secured a major distribution deal with Hisense and LG, supplying bulk orders to estate developers across the region.

Celebrating Three Years of Growth

Now, three years after opening his first store, the CEO is celebrating the launch of Kris Electronics’ third showroom. Reflecting on his success, he attributes his achievements to consistency, resilience, and faith. "Dear business owners, do not despise the days of your little beginning. May God continue to bless the hustle of every business owner out there," he shared, offering encouragement to others on a similar path.

As Kris Electronics continues to thrive, the story of its CEO stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the rewards of following one's passion.
