Amerado Explains Absence from Rapperholic Kumasi: "Yate M'akoma"

Ghanaian rapper Amerado, widely known as the Rap Dragon, has finally broken his silence on why he was unable to perform at the Kumasi edition of Sarkodie’s annual Rapperholic concert.

The artist, who has been noticeably absent from social media in recent weeks, revealed through a heartfelt Facebook post that emotional distress caused by a broken relationship was the reason behind his withdrawal from public life and performances.

In the post sighted by GhPage, Amerado shared that he had suffered a severe heartbreak. According to him, despite his then-girlfriend’s promise of loyalty, she ended up cheating on him—an act that left him deeply devastated.

“I’m trying so hard to be G but chale, yate m'akoma biom. Obi adi,” Amerado wrote, which translates to: “I’m trying hard to stay strong, but my heart is broken again. Someone has taken her from me.”

He noted that although this wasn’t his first heartbreak, the emotional toll of this recent one has been especially hard to handle. His fans had been speculating about his sudden absence, but no concrete explanation was available—until now.

This revelation sheds light on his inability to perform at Rapperholic, a platform that has seen major Ghanaian hip-hop and rap acts share the stage under the headline leadership of Sarkodie, one of Africa’s most celebrated rappers.

Amerado’s honesty has sparked both empathy and support across social media platforms, with many fans encouraging him to take the time he needs to heal and return stronger.
