A young woman, Lynda Kehinde, who recently relocated from the United Kingdom to Lagos, has shared her shocking experience with flooding in Lekki, one of the city’s most affluent neighborhoods.
In a now-viral video posted via her TikTok handle @lynda_kehinde, Lynda showed the aftermath of her apartment being completely flooded following a heavy downpour, describing it as her worst day since returning to Nigeria.
“Water Took Over My Apartment” – Lynda Recounts
According to her, the rain was so intense that water began pouring into her home through the shower drain, quickly spreading to other parts of the apartment.
“Yesterday, my whole house got flooded because of rain. The entire estate was submerged. Water came through the bathroom drain and flooded the living room in minutes,” she narrated.
Despite efforts to scoop out the water, Lynda said the volume kept increasing, leaving her helpless.
“No matter how much we removed, more water kept rushing in. I had to give up and wait it out before even thinking of cleaning or repairs,” she added.
She captioned the video:
“Rainy season in Lekki: 0/10. Would not recommend.”

-
@George Odili: “Before buying in Lekki, did you ask about the drainage system? Or just vibe and go?”
