The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of Samuel Amoah, popularly known as "Biggie," in connection with the tragic murder of three individuals at Tuba Net-Link Estates, a suburb of Kasoa in the Central Region.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Saturday, September 20, 2025, Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, provided details of the incident and subsequent investigation.
According to Commissioner Donkor, on May 19, 2024, police received a report of a violent incident at a residence in Tuba Net-Link Estates. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the body of a 39-year-old woman, Alberta Hagan, along with her three children in a pool of blood inside their home.
“One of the children was found alive but had sustained multiple deep head injuries. A five-month-old baby was also found unharmed on a sofa in the hall,” she stated.
The injured child was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. The bodies of the deceased were transported to the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. A post-mortem examination confirmed that the victims died as a result of severe head trauma caused by a blunt object.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect, Samuel Amoah, had been cohabiting with the victim, Alberta Hagan. Their relationship reportedly deteriorated due to ongoing financial disagreements. According to police findings, Amoah allegedly attacked Hagan and two of her children in a fit of rage. He then fled the scene and went into hiding.
After months of intelligence-led operations, the suspect was apprehended on September 17, 2025, in Suhum, Eastern Region. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime and expressed remorse for his actions.
Commissioner Donkor confirmed that Amoah is currently in police custody and is assisting with the investigation. He is expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.
"The Ghana Police Service assures the public that this case is being treated with the utmost urgency and professionalism to ensure justice is served for the victims and their families,” she concluded.
