The Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has reiterated the government’s commitment to bolstering the business community through the implementation of the 24-hour economy initiative.

This assurance was delivered during the official launch of the Madina Chamber of Commerce (MACOC) on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The newly established Chamber aims to connect and empower businesses within the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipality. Its core functions include offering financial support, tax advisory services, and networking opportunities to promote sustainable economic growth. The platform will also foster collaboration among members, enabling them to leverage collective strengths and tap into emerging business opportunities.

In an interview with Citi News, Mr. Sosu highlighted the critical role of business development in the constituency.

“Madina is a hub for commerce. You cannot be a leader in Madina without a vision to drive the business potential of the constituency. Madina is home to many small businesses with the potential to grow into bigger enterprises. They need deliberate nurturing, support, and encouragement to thrive,” he stated.

He further revealed that, with support from the Office of the Chief of Staff, stimulus packages are being rolled out for small businesses that register with MACOC.

Notably, the first 100 businesses to join the Chamber will receive assistance in transitioning to green energy. This includes the provision of solar panels by partner organizations to help reduce electricity costs and promote environmental sustainability.

To mark the Chamber’s launch, the inaugural "Madina Walks 4 Business" event was held. This community-focused initiative brought together entrepreneurs, policymakers, and residents to promote local businesses and encourage public-private sector collaboration.

The walk was led by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, alongside MP Sosu, symbolizing strong governmental backing for Madina’s business transformation under the 24-hour economy vision.
