Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings will be laid to rest today, November 28, 2025.
Nana Konadu passed away on October 23, 2025, at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) after a short illness.
Her final funeral rites, which are being fully sponsored by the state, will take place at Black Star Square. The ceremony is expected to attract dignitaries from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), political leaders across Ghana, and traditional authorities from communities she impacted throughout her life.
According to the family, no additional funeral will be held beyond the state ceremony. They have therefore encouraged all who were touched by her life and work to attend today’s service.
A solemn Requiem Mass held on Wednesday, November 26, at the Accra Ridge Church marked the beginning of the final farewell. Tributes and prayers during the service reflected the profound influence Nana Konadu had on Ghana’s national life.
