NYSFTD Offers $5,000 Reward for Information on Slain Ghanaian Uber Driver

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers (NYSFTD) has announced a **$5,000 reward** for information leading to the arrest of the individuals responsible for the death of one of its members.

Osei Kusi, a 39-year-old Ghanaian livery cab driver based in the United States, was found fatally stabbed inside his vehicle in the Bronx on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Authorities are investigating the incident as a suspected case of road rage.

According to the NYSFTD, onboard cameras in Kusi’s car captured both audio and video of the confrontation, including the license plate of the other vehicle involved. The organization expressed confidence that these recordings will help lead to a swift arrest but reiterated the vital safety guidelines issued to drivers.

“Never get out of your vehicle. That’s your shield, that’s what protects you. Once you’re out of the vehicle, anything could happen,” emphasized NYSFTD spokesperson Fernando Mateo.

Mateo described the attack as “an attempted murder and a danger to every New Yorker,” urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

Kusi had been driving for Uber and Lyft since 2019, supporting his wife and family in Ghana.
