Evangelist Patricia Asiamah, better known as Nana Agradaa, has embraced a new identity while serving her prison sentence at the Nsawam Female Prison, her husband, Angel Asiamah, has revealed.
During a church service on November 22, 2025, at the Heaven’s Way Church, Mr. Asiamah shared with the congregation that his wife now goes by the name Evangelist Josephine Asiamah. He explained that the name change signifies a transformative period in her spiritual journey.
"I was initially curious why she chose the name Josephine, but it made sense to me when I thought about the biblical Joseph, who ministered to fellow prisoners," Mr. Asiamah explained.
He continued, "My wife told me that in prison, she was given the name Evangelist Josephine Asiamah, also known as Mama Pat. This new name marks the start of a new chapter in her life. Whenever someone changes their name, it symbolizes a fresh beginning."
Mr. Asiamah also addressed rumors surrounding his wife’s physical appearance after nearly five months in detention. Some reports had suggested that her complexion had darkened significantly, but he dismissed these claims as exaggerated.
“People were saying she has become darker. But all Black people have a dark complexion. If she appears darker now, is that really news? She used to live in luxury, spending her days in air-conditioned rooms. Now, she is living under harsher conditions as an African woman, so there’s nothing unusual about her complexion changing,” he remarked.
