A corps member has taken to social media to seek help after his mother was reportedly kidnapped in Kogi State while travelling by road to Abuja.
Mother Reportedly Abducted in Kabba
The young man, identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @dope_demonxx, revealed that his mother was travelling on a commercial bus to Abuja when bandits attacked in the Kabba area.
He stated that their last conversation occurred when she informed him that she had entered the Kabba axis, after which communication suddenly ceased.
Viral Videos Show Passengers Taken by Kidnappers
His post surfaced shortly after another X user, @abujastreets, shared disturbing videos allegedly showing passengers being abducted from a bus on November 27, 2025.
The caption accompanying the videos expressed frustration over worsening insecurity in the region, stating:
“Apparently everyone on this bus was kidnapped earlier today in Kabba, Kogi state. Broad daylight bro… We are tired!!!”
Ransom Negotiations Underway
According to @dope_demonxx, families of the kidnapped passengers have begun receiving ransom calls. He disclosed that negotiations had started, but the kidnappers were making the process extremely difficult.
He wrote:
“Nigeria don finally happen to me. Bandits don kidnap my mom. Haaa, where do I start from?”
Providing further updates, he added:
“The issue still stands on ₦60 million. We’re trying to negotiate with them, but the number they provided is off for now until evening. They call each family randomly with different amounts. We’re in so much pain. Many children are with them 💔.”
In a comment, he confirmed:
“She was going to Abuja today. The last we heard from her, she said she was in Kabba.”
Public Reaction and Calls for Action
His posts quickly gained widespread attention, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy and offering prayers for the safe return of his mother and other victims.
Others used the opportunity to call for urgent government action, noting that kidnappings around Kogi and neighbouring routes have become increasingly common.
