Controversial social commentator Verydarkman has responded to the growing backlash surrounding Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy (Dami Ogulu), who has recently faced intense criticism online after asking a female fan to leave his concert in the United States. The incident occurred when Burna Boy paused his performance to have the sleeping fan escorted out, a move that sparked debate across social media.
Verydarkman’s Response
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Verydarkman addressed a now-viral clip circulating on X (formerly Twitter). According to him, the footage being used to criticize Burna Boy was not from the recent concert but was instead a re-edited video from the 2020 EndSARS protest in Abuja.
He also tackled rumors claiming that the female fan involved in the incident had posted a response on Instagram. Presenting what he described as evidence, he pointed out that the Instagram account in question had changed its username six times and was created only in July 2022, suggesting the alleged “fan statement” was fabricated.
Additionally, Verydarkman responded to an X user, @honest30bgfan, who claimed Burna Boy lost over 100,000 Instagram followers following the controversy. He provided screenshots to dispute this claim.
Digging Into Past Footage
In further defense of Burna Boy, Verydarkman shared an older video posted by the same X account, which supposedly showed a poorly attended Burna Boy performance at Coachella. He argued that the clip was misleading, suggesting it was recorded before Burna Boy even appeared on stage, thereby misrepresenting the event.
