The widow of Kofi Fosu, a nephew of legendary Ghanaian highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has emotionally recounted the tragic events surrounding her husband’s sudden passing, offering a heartbreaking account of how and where he died.
Speaking through tears, she revealed that nothing about the morning of Kofi’s death suggested it would be their last together. According to her, the couple slept and woke up together that day, with no clear indication that tragedy was imminent.
She explained that Kofi had been unwell for about three days prior to his death. Although he appeared weak and uncomfortable, his condition did not seem alarming at the time. Despite his illness, he remained calm and hopeful that he would soon recover.
The widow disclosed that during those days, Kofi struggled to keep food down and often vomited after eating. Still, he tried to stay strong. At a point, he told her he wanted to sit outside to get some fresh air, believing it might help ease his discomfort. She stayed with him outside, watching over him closely.
After some time, she briefly went inside the house to get him water from the fridge. When she returned moments later, she found Kofi lying on the ground, unconscious. Realising something was terribly wrong, she screamed for help, and he was rushed to the hospital immediately.
Tragically, all medical efforts to save him were unsuccessful, and Kofi was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Her emotional narration has deeply touched many Ghanaians, with several describing the incident as painful and difficult to comprehend. The loss comes barely two months after the burial of Daddy Lumba, further deepening the family’s grief.
As the family mourns, messages of sympathy and prayers continue to pour in from across the country, with many offering words of strength and comfort to Kofi’s widow during this devastating period.
Earlier reports confirmed that Kofi, the second-born son of Daddy Lumba’s younger sister, Faustina Fosu, passed away in Kumasi in the early hours of Saturday, January 24, 2026. The news was announced by content creator Kamal Mohammed, popularly known as Nation Blogger, who disclosed that Faustina Fosu broke down in tears while informing him of her son’s passing.
The tragic development has left many sympathisers expressing condolences to Faustina Fosu and the entire family as they grapple with yet another profound loss.
