Lawyer Kusi, counsel for Akosua Serwaa, has expressed strong confidence that justice will ultimately prevail for his client and the group described as the “legal wives.”
Speaking to the media following Akosua Serwaa’s arrival, Lawyer Kusi stated that he remains optimistic about the outcome of the case, particularly after his decision to file an appeal. According to him, developments behind the scenes have reinforced his belief that the case is solid and winnable.
He disclosed that since filing the appeal, he has received numerous threats, some of which have extended to his family. Lawyer Kusi revealed that his wife was also threatened and, as a result, urged him to withdraw the appeal for safety reasons. However, he believes these threats are a clear indication that the opposing party is aware of the strength and authenticity of the evidence he has presented.
Commenting on the initial ruling, Lawyer Kusi accused the presiding judge of bias, describing the decision as deliberate and unfair. He expressed disappointment over claims that he had forged documents, stating that such allegations were an affront to his professional integrity, especially since the opposing side was fully aware that the documents submitted were genuine.
“What the judge did was a deliberate attempt,” he said. “The claim that I forged documents was an insult to my integrity, particularly when the other party knew very well that the documents were authentic.”
Despite the intimidation, Lawyer Kusi maintained that he would not be deterred from pursuing the appeal. He emphasized that the threats only strengthened his resolve, as they suggested fear from those who stand to lose if justice is served.
“We have a very strong case,” he concluded. “Why would anyone try to intimidate me if there was nothing to hide? We are standing for justice, and in the end, we will get it.”
