Presidential staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has expressed the view that although Kennedy Agyapong possesses admirable qualities and ideas, his habitual use of insults disqualifies him from being suitable presidential material.
According to her, Agyapong’s temperament and communication style are ill-suited for leading a country like Ghana, noting that unless he curbs this tendency, he should not contemplate contesting for the presidency.
Nana Yaa Jantuah made these remarks during an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM while discussing the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
“The Assin Bill Gates, Ken, is not a bad person, but his mouth is his downfall. He insults people at the slightest provocation. He insults without meaning it, but that is not acceptable. He insulted me on radio and later called me on the phone to insult me again,” she stated.
She further expressed concern that the issue appears persistent. “If even his wife, Adwoa Safo, has admitted that he has a habit of insulting people, then that is a serious problem. I thought he would change, but that has remained his style. Look at how he insulted President Mahama. I also saw a video of him insulting an Omanhene, and it made me sad,” she said.
Nana Yaa Jantuah warned that Agyapong’s aggressive conduct could have consequences beyond politics, adding that such behaviour could negatively affect his health if not controlled.
Despite her criticisms, she acknowledged that the former Member of Parliament for Assin Central has strong ideas and the potential to contribute significantly to Ghana’s development, provided he is willing to implement them with discipline and restraint.
Kennedy Agyapong remains one of the leading contenders in the race for the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer position.
