Award-winning Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has reaffirmed his faith following a recent visit to Jerusalem, Israel, where he offered prayers for his family, his constituents, and Ghanaians facing economic hardship.
The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon and Deputy Minister of Agriculture travelled to the holy city on January 23, 2026. During the visit, Dumelo took time to reflect spiritually and seek divine guidance, blessings and protection, sharing moments from the trip in photos that have since gone viral on social media.
Beyond his personal devotion, Dumelo said he prayed especially for the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon, many of whom are struggling with their businesses and livelihoods. He noted that his constituents had placed their trust in him as their representative in Parliament, and he committed them to God in prayer.
The visit to Jerusalem comes alongside Dumelo’s continued focus on development within his constituency. He recently announced plans to construct an 18-unit classroom block in Dzorwulu, a project aimed at improving education and creating a better learning environment for students in the area.
According to Dumelo, the school has not received any new classroom infrastructure since its establishment more than 50 years ago. Together with the Municipal Chief Executive, Dr Mensah, he officially cut the sod to mark the start of the project.
Sharing the update, Dumelo expressed hope that the new facility would serve not only the Dzorwulu community but surrounding areas as well, reiterating his commitment to development in Ayawaso West Wuogon.
His blend of spiritual reflection and community-focused leadership has drawn praise from many supporters, who see the Jerusalem visit and the school project as further signs of his dedication to both faith and public service.
