A tragic and disturbing incident has emerged from Adidaase, a farming community near Manso Amenfi in Ghana's Western Region. A 31-year-old farmer, Abdul Salam, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his six-year-old son in what is suspected to be a ritual killing aimed at acquiring wealth.
The young boy was initially reported missing, prompting a community-wide search involving residents and local authorities. However, the search ended in devastation after police investigations led to the arrest of his father. Under interrogation, Abdul Salam confessed to the horrific act.
According to the Asankragua police, the suspect admitted to killing his son, decapitating him, and severing his legs. He disclosed that he hid the dismembered body parts in a nearby bush with the intention of selling them for ritual purposes.
Abdul Salam is currently in police custody and is expected to face prosecution for the crime.
This incident has shocked the local community and sparked renewed concerns over the alarming prevalence of ritual-related crimes in parts of the country. Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activities that may indicate involvement in such practices.
