Ghanaian artist Archipalago, also known for his track “Daddy Lumba Y3 Me Idle,” has publicly questioned whether his tribute song for the late Daddy Lumba was played during the musician’s one-week memorial event. Archipalago, who refers to Daddy Lumba as his “idol,” expressed his disappointment, stressing that it would be disrespectful if the tribute song were omitted.
In a viral video, the musician stated that composing the song was not a spontaneous decision, but rather an inspired effort driven by the spirit of the late musician. He clarified that the song came from the heart and was a product of a deep connection with Daddy Lumba’s legacy.
“Please confirm whether my tribute song is being played at Daddy Lumba’s one-week observance,” Archipalago asked. “If it isn’t, it would be a great disrespect to Daddy Lumba. I didn’t just wake up and write this song; it was his spirit that inspired me to create it."
He further expressed frustration, claiming that there were efforts to undermine his work. “It’s painful that some people are trying to sabotage me, and it hurts to see them doubting my intentions,” he added.
Archipalago’s statement comes amidst a mix of emotional tributes to Daddy Lumba, as fans and fellow artists continue to mourn the legendary musician.
