Woman Claiming to Be Akosua Serwaa’s Sister Accuses Odo Broni of Breaking Daddy Lumba’s Marriage

A woman who claims to be the sister of Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of late highlife icon Daddy Lumba, has gone viral on TikTok after accusing Odo Broni, the singer’s second wife, of being the reason behind the breakdown of his long-standing marriage.

In the emotional video, the woman dismissed circulating rumours that Akosua Serwaa neglected Lumba during his illness. She insisted that the singer chose to remain in Ghana with his “sidechick” despite plans being made for him to undergo surgery in Germany, where his first wife resides.

Background: The Death of a Legend and the Wives Left Behind

Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra, after falling ill at his East Legon home. His death has triggered public conversations about his personal life—particularly his relationships with Akosua Serwaa, whom he married in the 1980s, and Priscilla Ofori Atta (Odo Broni), who lived with him in Ghana in his final years.

Despite never officially divorcing Akosua Serwaa, Lumba fathered four children with her and five with Odo Broni. The singer’s one-week celebration, held at Black Star Square on August 30, brought both women into the spotlight—though they appeared cordial, tensions have emerged among their supporters.

Allegations from Akosua Serwaa’s Alleged Sister

In the TikTok video, the woman alleged that Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa once shared a close, transparent relationship until Odo Broni “secretly” entered the picture.

She claimed:

  • Lumba kept his relationship with Odo Broni hidden from his wife.
  • By the time Akosua Serwaa discovered the affair, Odo Broni already had three children with him.
  • Lumba was scheduled for surgery in Germany but canceled at the last minute—allegedly choosing to stay in Ghana with Odo Broni.
  • Whenever he visited his first wife, Odo Broni would reportedly call him repeatedly, creating tension and suspicion.

The woman also strongly denied claims that Akosua Serwaa stayed away while Lumba was ill, emphasizing that she was actively involved in his care plans.

Public Reaction

The video has ignited debate online, with fans divided over who was the singer’s rightful partner. While some sympathize with Akosua Serwaa, others believe the public should respect the privacy of the grieving families.

Ken Ofori-Atta Files Legal Action Against Special Prosecutor Over 'Wanted Person' Label

Former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has taken legal action against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), seeking an injunction to prevent the agency from continuing to label him as a “wanted person” or “fugitive from justice.” This legal move comes after Ofori-Atta's image and personal details were publicly displayed on the OSP's official social media pages, despite earlier assurances made in a letter dated February 18, 2025. In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity. Additionally, Ofori-Atta seeks an interlocutory injunction to stop the OSP from issuing any further press releases or public statements that ...
