Woman Advises Ladies to Reject Men Who Can't Afford a Car as Wedding Gift

A Nigerian woman has sparked a debate after advising women to reject any man who cannot afford to gift them a car on their wedding day. This bold statement was shared in a viral TikTok post by the user @chiomacf, where she urged women to either marry wealthy men or stay single, emphasizing that no man is worth enduring hardship for.

In the video, the woman stated:
"Do not marry a man who cannot gift you a car on your wedding day. Ladies, do not settle for a man who isn't capable of providing for you. A man who cannot properly care for you and your future children is not worth your time."

She continued:
"Do not compromise, do not be an understanding girlfriend or wife to any man who cannot offer you the life you deserve. If he can't take care of you now, he won't be able to do so later. This is 2025—no more settling."
She further added:
"Do not give any man a chance if he can't offer you what you deserve. Either marry someone wealthy, or stay single. There’s no mercy for men who can't take care of you."

As the video circulated online, it prompted strong reactions, with many social media users sharing their views in the comment section.

Some reactions included:

  • FIRSTUS🌈🍀: “If you’re looking for a man to take care of you, then build him yourself.”
  • lutherEl007: “Schooling women on how to succeed—our students are excelling!”
  • Klassick: “Please, no woman should date a man who isn't wealthy. Let’s all stay single together, and fight for rich men. You'll cry better for it, trust me!”

The conversation sparked a wider debate about relationships, expectations, and financial security, with some agreeing with the woman's stance while others questioned the materialistic approach to marriage.

In a motion filed by his legal team, Ofori-Atta argues that the OSP's actions violate the principles of administrative justice, specifically the right to a fair process and the protection of his personal dignity.
