Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has made headlines once again with a bold declaration following his recent brush with the law. Just days after being released from custody by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the outspoken artist made a public appearance at the Osu Homowo Festival, where he issued a defiant statement to his critics.
While performing his hit track “Rising Youth,” Shatta Wale stated emphatically that if anyone dares him, he would purchase another Lamborghini within the next two months.
“If they dare me, I’ll buy another Lambo next two months,” he said on stage.
This audacious remark comes after a turbulent week for the musician, who was detained by EOCO on Wednesday, August 1, 2025. The investigation centered around the ownership of a yellow Lamborghini Urus, which Shatta Wale claimed to have acquired “on the streets.” His vague response raised concerns among investigators, prompting EOCO to seize the vehicle as part of their ongoing inquiry—one that reportedly involves collaboration with U.S. authorities.
According to EOCO’s official statement, the circumstances surrounding the purchase of the vehicle were suspicious, leading to his temporary detention. Initially, Shatta Wale was granted bail set at GH¢10 million, which was later reduced to GH¢5 million, with two sureties whose assets are to be verified by the authorities.
The Osu Homowo Festival marked Shatta Wale’s first major public appearance since his release, and he seized the opportunity to address his situation indirectly, using his trademark bravado to reclaim the spotlight.
The artist’s legal troubles have sparked mixed reactions from the public, especially on social media, where opinions remain divided over his conduct and the ongoing investigation.
