Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has stirred public concern following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over a vehicle reportedly acquired under questionable circumstances.
According to reports gathered by GhPage, Shatta Wale was picked up by EOCO on the evening of Wednesday, August 21, 2025, as part of an investigation into the ownership of a car in his possession.
In his statement to investigators, the musician shockingly admitted that he does not know the individual from whom he purchased the vehicle. He explained that the car was bought “off the streets” from someone he cannot identify.
Shatta Wale also disclosed that he has no purchase receipt or any contact details of the seller, claiming that both have been misplaced or lost.
This revelation has intensified scrutiny around the matter, as authorities seek to verify the legitimacy of the car's ownership and determine whether any laws were breached. The case remains open as EOCO continues its investigations.
